A. A.

The first step is speaking to an experienced contractor at Shepard Custom Cabinets about what you want from your custom cabinetry. Sending us your room dimensions, either via drawings or architectural blueprints, is a great place to begin. After we learn the extent of work required we can provide you the first cost estimate. This will start the planning phase. We can help you make the final decisions about what you want.

B. Design Details & Consultation

After we have done our initial due diligence, and provided an estimate to you for the cost, we will start the design and consultation phase. We will communicate with you via email and phone, and we will need to visit the site in order to take final measurements. This is where we finalize the design plans and estimate the time it will take to complete the project. We also create a complete list of supplies. This phase will determine the cost of the project.

C. Exact Drawings and Deposit Payment

This step will allow us to create a payment schedule and provide you with ample notice for any future payments. The payment schedule coincides with the subsequent phases of the project, the final plans, cabinet fabrication, and the final building.

After the planning phase is completed, your project will be added to our schedule once the down payment has been paid. Once the planning phase is complete, we will have drawings that include all necessary measurements and materials. One of the main reasons we have opted for these processes is due to the challenges that arise from changes once the fabrication starts. Once you give us your instructions, we will fabricate your cabinets.

D. Building the Cabinets and Onsite Installation

This is where all the pieces fall together. We start building and crafting your cabinets at our location in Anaheim. Once the fabrication phase is completed, we will transport everything to your property for the final installation. When the entire project is completed, the final deposit is due. This usually takes between 4 and 8 weeks. Because custom cabinets are made to order, the turnaround time on your project will depend on various factors such as the style of cabinets, how many pieces, and the labor time for each unique piece.
